Skylar Grey Releases New Single and Music Video ‘Moving Mountains’

Interscope Record’s, Skylar Grey, just dropped a new track titled “Moving Mountains,” as well as, released a stunning new music video on VEVO to accompany it.

This Grammy-Nominated singer-songwriter is on the move and is accomplishing unbelievable tasks in her musical career. From co-writing and featuring in the past with such stars as Dr. Dre, Kid Cudi, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Zedd,, Diddy, Moby, David Guetta, Kaskade, Cee Lo, T.I. and more, she has captured the hearts and ears of many listeners and fans. She even has been a central sound to many movie soundtracks, such as 50 Shades of Grey and Fast and Furious 7.

In a previous interview I had with Grey, she had mentioned that she had been experimenting a lot with the Hip-Hop and EDM world of music, but now she is trying to return back to her roots, in the indie and rock domains of where it all started for in this musical path.

In this new single “Moving Mountains,” which she released on April 1st, 2016, Grey plays around with the tunes, and lyrics that strike the raw, sweet, melodic, and true tones. She very much is comparable to that of the sounds of Laura Marling, an indie artist who embodies the bittersweetness of life in her voice, kind yet melancholy.

Skylar Grey wrote this song and Mike Elizondo and Mark Batson produced it, based on the inspiration of the mountains in Park City, Utah, where Grey currently resides. The song is actually mean to be a follow up to her last release featuring X-Ambassadors “Cannonball.” It is also the perfect cabin in the woods music. And… the video, directed by Peter Harding, perfectly reflects that aura with shots of scenic forestry and mountain ranges and blue skies that make up Utah– the visuals are breathtaking. In addition, the shots go back and forth between nature and Grey playing her guitar near a fire.

The cinematography is riveting! It is an absolutely beautiful piece overall, and you can watch it here now!
