“We don’t want no devils in the house, God (Yes, Lord)”… We just want, Kanye, yes, Lord, because he has announced that he will be officially touring on what will be the Saint Pablo Tour.
“Ultralight Beam” – Kanye West
How does one even begin to describe the astronomical reaction this tour has created? The hype is so real for the ‘New Kanye’ shows; take for example when he attempted a pop-up show in New York city when a festival was cancelled and shut down an entire block! Everyone was on their toes, in wonder of whether Ye was going to pull the plug and let everyone know about a forthcoming concert series for Pablo. Well, the wait was finally over when Kanye officially announced via TIDAL the Saint Pablo Tour which will kick off in August.
A lot of people don’t probably recall, but back in April, Yeezy himself revealed some information regarding a possible tour when he thanked his fans on Twitter who all supported him in getting The Life of Pablo to No. 1. He posted, “I’m so happy that you guys like the music… I’m working on the tour designs now…” Oh, Kanye?
Soon after, during an interview on Steve Harvey’s Show, he confirmed that the tour would absolutely occur and that it would commence, at what he thought at the time would be tour would start sometime in September.
He said on the show that day:
You know my tour game is strong,” he said. “My tour game is unprecedented. So we’re going to go out in September I believe, and we’re just working on some of the ideas right now. But as I said before, I’m trying to literally inspire these kids the way Disney inspired me when I saw the original Star Wars.
Kim Kardashian also had given a few hints to fans in her own tweets on news of the tour.
And just to add a dash of even more hype, the Chicago-native has made the show an incredibly limited tour. According to reports, there will only be two dozen shows that will only show up in cities in the USA and Canada. It will start on August 25th, in Indianapolis, but just as quickly as it came, it will be over on October 29th, ending in Las Vegas. Way to make another statement, Kanye. The tour will hit almost 40 major cities across North America. This is such a unique and significant moment for Kanye and for the project because this will mark the first time The Life of Pablo will ever be performed live; in addition, it will also be the first time in a long time that Yeezus goes on tour again since his last run in 2014.
There was a recent update too, that due to overwhelming pre-sale demand of tickets, Kanye was forced to add several more dates to his Saint Pablo Tour. Here are the new dates below:
Wednesday, August 31, 2016: Toronto, ON — Air Canada Centre
Friday, September 16, 2016: Miami, FL — American Airlines Arena
Tuesday, September 27, 2016: Grand Rapids, MI — Van Andel Arena
Sunday, October 23, 2016: Oakland, CA — Oracle Arena
Tuesday, October 27, 2016: Los Angeles, CA — Forum
With all that being said, The Life of Pablo set several records for TIDAL upon its release on Feb. 14. Just 10 days after its release, the album reached over 250 millions streams and doubled the streaming service’s subscriber base from 1 million to 2.5 million. That was it, just that tiny window of exclusivity was enough to make data and customer analytics sky rocket, to which then it was released on other platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify.
Tickets will be available V soon to the Saint Pablo Tour and will go on sale for exclusive TIDAL subscribers and American Express members this Thursday, June 16th at 10 AM. After that, tickets will be available to the rest of the public starting as of Friday, June 17th.
