For a few weeks now, Calvin Harris has been giving glimpses into the video for “This Is What You Came For” with some of the most stunning photos of Rihanna, but this morning, the official music video was released to the world. And let me tell you, Rihanna slays!
The Emil Nava-directed cinematic production of the song that hit the Billboard Charts almost instantly, features a gorgeously mysterious Rihanna in a sparkling onesie, dancing and strutting her way in a box-shaped room lit by LED lights. (Anyone else seeing a little more of an intense, sexier, feminine version of Drake’s “Hotline Bling?”) The pop songstress is absolutely stunning and seductive as she lures you in with her eyes and hands and as she jumps around joyously whipping her ponytail this way and that way.
The video is as flashy as it could be both literally and figuratively. Rihanna treks over disparate terrains of land from desert to cement roads to green forests to concerts whilst facing light beams and lightning bolts. The song is fast-paced, heart-racing, and upbeat in its rhythm and the visual is dynamic in its energy. It sparks a flame in you, transfers you to an EDM dimension all of its own, and makes you want to join Ri Ri as she lets loose under the neon lights.
Calvin even made a point to note that she looks “amazing.”
This is the second time that the two artists have collaborated with each other, and to say that they make beautiful music would be an understatement. They previously teamed up in 2011 for their song “We Found Love,” that hit the top and came off Rihanna’s album Talk That Talk.

The split seemed completely civil since producer tweeted that the two still had a deep level of respect and love for each other even after the separation. Taylor later retweeted that to her millions of followers. But recent updates have shown that things may not be on such good terms after all. After seeing Swift kissing actor Tom Hiddleston, Harris unfollowed Swift on Twitter and deleted the tweet, and both have erased each other’s 15 month existence off their Instagram accounts. Harris is not doing too peachy.
As for the Caribbean Queen, she has been enjoying her time being a fashion icon, a party starter, and a vocalist in many more songs. She recently released a song with Mike WiLL Made-It called “Nothing Is Promised.”
