DJ Khaled Shares ‘Major Key’ Cover + Plans to Snapchat Son’s Birth on ‘Kimmel’

DJ Khaled has announced, happily, that his ninth album, Major Key, will arrive later this year!

On Thursday night, the Khaled himself showed up to Jimmy Kimmel Live! for an interview, but he actually ends up revealing the cover to his LP. LIIIIIOOOOONNNNNN. But of course, the image displays the major icon himself resting in a golden throne with lion beside him in a bed of flowers. The first single on the album, “For Free,” features the 6-God, Drake, and the rest of the album includes artists like Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Bryson Tiller, Big Sean, Wale, JAY Z, and Future. BREATHE. Yes, that was a lot of star-studded names on this LP. You can watch the interview above!

Khaled is a proud man. He’s a proud lion man. As soon as Kimmel introduced his cover, the artist got up and began hyping the crowd for its reveal.

In addition, DJ Khaled will be presenting his β€œI Got the Keys” which features Jay Z and Future and will air on We The Best Radio on Beats1 tonight at 5pm PST and 8pm EST.

Hypebeast: DJ Khaled

Khaled told Kimmel and the audience around him that “any time is always the right time,” to uncover the Major Key. “The key is it’s always that time. The other key is the more we show it, the more this show is going to continue to be bigger and bigger every day.”

Khaled thinks the cover is a picture perfect representation of who he is (no pun intended). “The album cover is 100 percent authentic,” he said, and “what I represent from my spiritual vibes to my beliefs and not just that, but a certain energy that I keep around me. Positivity but, at the same time, as a king. A positive king.”

An optimistic, bil ol’ jolly Lion King.

Speaking of Lion King, Khaled also had big news to announce about his own little lion cub/Simba, his own baby boy to-be, and who I assume will be taking over the Major Key Kingdom one day. Khaled said that he will be Snapchatting the entire birth. Ummmm, what? He’s amped to raise his son in the world of his notorious keys, but when he dropped the fact that he wanted to Snapchat the entire birth, er, yeah, Kimmel was also uncomfortable.

He even went into a discussion about his chat with President Obama one day. “We had cloth talk,” Khaled said. Kimmel, was confused of this topic, but Khaled went into more detail explaining that “[it’s] the realest talk ever… The holy grail. Not everybody can talk cloth.” Well, this is truly enlightening.

Khaled hit up Instagram after his big reveal on Kimmel and gave his fans a run down as to the significance of, and of course, the key, to his record:
