Looks like the Democratic party is ready to get real with it by having the hip hop legend, Snoop Dogg, perform at their Democratic National Convention this year.
This big shindig is the party of the year for the Democrats and they call it the Unity Party, and they intend to unite with Snoop that night to have him headline their event. He will also be accompanied by a Grammy-winning rock band known as Los Lobos.
As told to Billboard, the event will be held on July 28th at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory in which the focal point of the gathering will be the Democratic donors. It will also be hosted by the super PACs Priorities USA, the Senate Majority PAC, and the House Majority PAC. It’s a full house!
Now, back to Snoop politics. So, why is the Californian rapper taking sides and performing here in particular? Well, if people can recall, last year the artist announced cosigning with the Clinton crowd. In this video broadcasted by Bravo! TV, he states, “You know I like to be politically correct, but sometimes I’m politically incorrect,” the Dogg responded in response to an anonymous caller to the segment Watch What Happens Live back in May. You can watch the whole scene unfold in the video above.
May are not aware of Snoop’s avid political standing and how engaged he remains with society in this campaign. It was a month after Clinton had received her bid for presidency that he made a statement on national television of whom he would officially vote for. He continued to explain “but I’ll say that I would love to see a woman in office because I feel like we’re at that stage in life to where we need a perspective other than the male’s train of thought. And just to have a woman speaking from a global perspective as far as representing America, I’d love to see that. So I’ll be voting Ms. Clinton.”
How sweet and cool of him. It’s true, it would be cool to see a woman’s perspective, and hers in particular, since she has been all over the world and has had so much experience before. Though there are many rough edges with the Clintons, she is still a much better candidate than the maniacal and infamous ideas of the commercial mogul, Trump. (Or should I say, Drumpf?) Snoop, if you had any plans to change your mind, that might be a bit of an awkward exchange to switch now. Nonetheless, it seems like Snoop is all in for the Clinton team, and wants to show his loyalty and dedication to the Democrats by representing America and the party he chooses to vote for. Right on, Snoop. Respect!
Good luck at the show, Snoop! Rock those Democratic movements!
