As if! This is definitely NOT what he came for…
Funny how a simple break up that started out friendly became one over-the-number character counted tweet between Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift, and now word gets out that she wrote his hit song?! Apparently, someone, either being Swift or one of her teammates, posted a tweet that revealed a fact that not only shocked followers but Harris as well. Under the alias, Nils Sjoberg (bless you), someone posted the fact that Swift was the one who had written the radio-dominating track featuring Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For.” And what did Harris do? He innocently and disappointingly posted back a pleading post of peace.
According to sources such as People magazine and Complex, this may have been the cause of their split, but no one knows for sure. At one point before their separation, Harris was on TV with Ryan Seacrest and “supposedly” said that he couldn’t see himself collaborating with Swift on a song ever. Uh huh. Now with this outburst, Harris swiftly took on the “Blank Space” and serial dater via Twitter to explain the truth.
He was actually and genuinely honest and kind in his tweets. In fact, I really felt for the guy. He first acknowledges Swift’s talent as a songwriter and then asks her to please stop all of this nonsense (and be mature about this). He says that he wrote, produced and arranged the entire song and that she is just not handling this situation very well.
I’m guessing now that the American producing giant is starting to get emotionally attached to his own song thinking to himself “ya, this is definitely NOT what I came for.”
Hasn’t the girl moved onto Tom Hiddleston? Why the bad blood, really? “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do,” says the EDM DJ. Preach! He had once said that he has “nothing but love and respect for his ex,” and she retweeted him; so how did all of this come about?
Now there is no trace or sign of their relationship existing on either of their socials, and then so many thought that Harris’ new single with the singer/songwriter John Newman entitled “Olé” was about the break up with Swift. Turns out it wasn’t but I wish it was, so finally someone roasted her for once. In the heat of things, even he mentioned the whole Katy Perry feud that Swift had with her in the past, saying, “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.” Even that wasn’t mean, just stating facts. He was really gracious the whole time, and he’s just exhausted of this whole thing, respects the artist that she is, and is just upset that she goes about doing this to him, right after he releases the song and the music video. Just savage. And cruel.
You can see for yourself his sincere tweet series below:
Now, what is it going to take to get people to stop caring so much about what these two artists say or do? They broke up, T-Swift had another relationship and left it and is with another guy. Is that really news? She does it all the time. The only thing that’s shocking is that she hasn’t written a new song about him yet. Just chill out people, go workout, or do work, or read, or learn, or Netflix and eat popcorn or something instead of stalking their tweets and their lives. Cool. Peace!
