Mac Miller Collabs With Anderson .Paak On This New Track & Announces A New Album

This track is actually one of the chillest, but definitely a need-to-be-hyped single that Mac Miller dropped in collaboration with the hip hop artist Anderson .Paak titled, “Dang!”

It’s a funk-fresh classic, with smooth disco tunes, and almost like an atmospheric jazz/lounge music aura. It’s got the trumpets, the airy white noise, impulsive, wobbly guitar riffs, and steady claps. .Paak reminds me of a courser, breathier, (yet still smooth) and more unique sounding version of George Michael, and Miller’s rapping is sick. Their voices compliment one another in the most dynamic of ways as .Paak croons us with “I can’t keep on losing you over complications.” The piano chords fit the intermissions of sound and fill the air spaces as the echoes and layered vocals of Miller take over. It’s an interesting take on the usual music that Miller and the XXL Freshman classmate create, but it’s one that works and I wish they would actually stick to.

Miller’s last album GO:OD AM was released sometime last year, and now he’s back again with a new album for this year. According to Miller, who was brought on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show to premier this new single, the project called The Divine Feminine will drop this fall on September 15th; this is very close to when he dropped his last album on September 18th. Way to be symmetrical, man! So, he’s right on time, or better yet, he’s early! The entire record will be produced and released by the music mogul entity Warner Bros. Records.

Needless to say, we’ve all been waiting for some “Weekend” magic from this rap super star who has always been good with constructing melodic beats and flowing soulfully with his lyrics. Miller has really been climbing the ladder of the music industry, and it will definitely show in this forthcoming album which includes some of the most epic appearances, as Hypetrak and Pigeons&Planes have reported, such as Kendrick Lamar, Robert Glasper, and CeeLo Green, of course among many more.
