The Game Drops New Album ‘Block Wars’ For Own Video Game

You’re head will be rockin’ like a bobblehead to this album…

West Coast rapper, The Game, got busy with his music and birthed this new project titled Block Wars. The album was created to go along with his very own video game, also called “Block Wars”The Game unveils the a new album to accompany his new “Block Wars.” This game was a huge contribution on the artist’s part for being an Atari ambassador, and now The Game has a reason and an excuse to create a sweet new compilation consisting of 10 heavy-hitting hip hop tracks.

I will admit, that it is a very solid project. It is cool and chill. It is epic and intense, but in the end, I don’t really find each track very different from each other. All have the same eerie synths, lethal beats and bass, some gun shot and beep sounds, then The Game’s haunting rap lyrics. However, don’t get me wrong, this piece is perfect for an audience of video game players. It is quite literally the sound effects to a virtual war game and narrates the adventure sonically. Of all of his tracks on this project, his single featuring Lorine Chia, “Uzis and Grenades,” is really tight. Then his track “Run It” has amazing flow. These two tracks contrast well with the rest of the album as maybe the paradox of the bunch. Both hard and soft, these tracks definitely add some character to the solely just-rap album. And as for the track “Alameda,” we get a really cool vibe with the sounds of either birds or walkie talkies retuning with some sick instrumental string accompaniment.

The Game has also announced to fans that he will be going on tour next month with his album for a 1992 Block Wars Tour, which will span over 20 cities in the U.S. and then will make its way to a few European countries.  You can now listen to the entire record here!
