The notorious hip hop record label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) has been keeping its artists busy as they each have been releasing albums in the past two years. Rumors have spread that the company is planning a tour, but that is until all of the rappers have dropped their own projects. Fans were extremely hyped when they saw a tweet posted by the head of the company itself, the ultimate Top Dawg, Anthony Tiffith, which read “09.01.16.” Such a simple tweet, yet extremely effective because the crowd has already begun to theorize what that might actually mean. Many of the artists have already released, but we’re still waiting on Isaiah Rashad, SZA, Ab-Soul, Lance Skiiiwalker, or Black Hippy.
The Interscope Record-distributed company was founded back in 2004 and is located in Carson, California. Of its artists who have recently dropped albums, Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly and ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP rocked the nation with their incredible rap artistry and project construction.
Fans of the record label’s production has been begging for a collaboration album; however, the rappers themselves made it clear that this would never happen, as the artists are always so incredibly busy and occupied with their own worlds. So with that, fans looked to the next big thing that incorporate all of the artists together, in one. A concert.
The day that a tour such as this would happen, it would be huge for the company! But until then we’ll just be waiting for another elusive tweet from the owner.
What do you think? Will there be another artist release on September 2nd, or will it be a tour announcement? Who would you be most excited to see? Let us know!
