Candyland & Shoffy Power Team-Up for Electro-R&B Single “Faces”

The dance music community has been blessed again by the sweet productions of Candyland.

Though we lost her for a bit, Candyland is back and better than ever along with the erotic and stunning vocals of the Southern California native Shoffy. Together they debut via EDM record label Monstercat their newest release “Faces” this track alone could be the definition of “mood” as it takes you through the various schizophrenic faces of feelings and emotions. Josie has been hard at work in the studio perfecting this track along with the collaborative efforts of the producer Shoffy, but nothing has tired her out yet, and she’s only winning from here.

As for Shoffy’s vocals, you could compare him to sounding much like Miguel – an R&B vibe that is both seductive and silky. “Faces”  is a song that insinuates a warm fuzzy feeling but then strikes you in this emphatic wave of fury as the static of his voice is suddenly parted by the infiltration a of siren like voices that then grow into a heavy trap house bass beat and then take the song to a whole new dimension. EDM and R&B clash and collide but in all of the right places. The song is provocative for the usual Electronic fan or for the smooth vocalist listener. It’s an intriguing piece that even if you were not an admirer of one genre you’d still listen to it because of the way it puzzle pieces together sounds, noises, intonations and more. It’s a revolutionary chant sprinkled with sexy undertones. It’s a pump up and a cool down. It’s a paradox of sound and an illusion of hypnotic hype.

Now for a little history lesson on the artists. In 2011, Candyland became an emerging artist. Originally born as Josie Martin from Santa Barbara, CA, she distributed her talent through various platforms and genres including Dubstep, Trap, Electro House, Pop, Hip Hop, and more. You can just tell from “Faces” that she knows how to work with them all.

In addition to all of this, her single “Speechless” ft. RKCB ranked in a No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Viral US & Global charts. A huge feat conquered all on its own, and not to mention that the track pushed her Soundcloud to over 20 million plays!
In the past Candyland had worked with Krewella, Seven Lions, and Kill Paris and has had opportunities to perform at major events such as EDC Orlando, Ultra Miami, Nocturnal Wonderland, Electric Zoo, Spring Awakening and many more.

Now, for our dear balladic connoisseur, Shoffy. This artist grew up in the Los Angeles, and he definitely found a place for his angelic voice in this city. His powerful and infectious tunes and tones include guitars, synths, and vocals. Alex Shofler is a superhero of electronic sound and music as he lives a real double life! By day a Financial Analyst, and by night an at-home studio producer and DJ.

In November of 2015, Shoffy let his solo career soar with his hit release “Takes My Body Higher” ft. Lincoln Jesser off his EP Conversations in The AM. Within just a few days, the song went viral at 19 million plays on Spotify and 5 Million plays on YouTube. WHAT?! This was completely done on its own with no further promotion or backing. It was adored au naturale.  Billboard also recognized it at a No. 19 spot on the Hot Dance/Electronic Charts for 12 weeks. Take that, Drake! (Even if they’re two different genres.) Hint hint: Shoffy has a surprise for us coming up soon, a new EP entitled Somewhere Between Nostalgia and Paradise.
Together, there is nothing that can stop this dynamic duo from creating perfect harmonious and epic soundscapes. You can listen to the track above and let us know what you think!
